Ariminum, now Rimini, a city of the province of Romagna, suffragan to the archbishop of Ravenna, and situated on the Adriatic sea and the river Ariminus, venerates these Saints. Ferrari writes of them in both his Catalogues; but so little that besides their names and cult he scarcely asserts anything by which he might instruct the reader, as is clear from the Catalogue of the Saints of Italy, in which at this day he thus records: Facundinus, Juventinus, Peregrinus, brothers, and Felicitas, their sister, at Rimini, as tradition has it, in the time of the persecution seized and tortured for the confession of Christ, were crowned with martyrdom on the IV of the Nones of September. Whose bodies are kept buried in the cathedral church. And their memory is commemorated with an anniversary solemnity on this day at Rimini and throughout the diocese. And presently Ferrari indicates that these things were taken from the records and monuments of the church of Rimini. And in his annotation he says, The Acts of these holy Martyrs are wanting: nor could more be known of them than what has been said. In the Directory of the church of Rimini for the year 1644 they are to be celebrated with a double rite. In passing I warn that today's SS. Facundinus and Juventinus are altogether different from the two namesakes whom we gave at the day XXVIII of August. Of today's Martyrs Castellanus also treats in his universal Martyrology.
